The directors of TRL were responsible for the creation of the National High Tech Crime Training Centre for the UK Police Service and the development of a high tech crime training programme that incorporated IT Forensics, Internet and Network investigations as well as bespoke training for specific departments within the police and other law enforcement agencies, such as child protection units, fraud squads, covert internet investigators and those responsible for their management.
They also created the first e-learning first responder training course. Their training has been delivered to students from over 50 countries and today their services are still sought to provide training to law enforcement in European and Asian countries. They have also worked with Interpol, Europol, the G8 countries, European Commission and United Nations in developing and delivering training material.
They were also at the forefront of the development of Master of Science programmes in cybercrime investigation, holding the status of associate tutors for the courses. Our directors have over 60 years policing experience and in addition to high tech training have also developed training in fraud investigation and management, financial investigation, money laundering and other associated subjects. All of this on top of decades of actually investigating the types of crime detailed.
This puts TRL in a unique position to provide similar training to qualifying private sector organisations, something the directors were restrained from doing while in a law enforcement environment.
Since leaving law enforcement the directors have seen many training courses that purport to provide the outcomes available from law enforcement and have been disappointed that most of them fall short. They have put together a team of over 30 top quality trainers that have all had many years of experience in policing and training, not only in the subjects detailed above but also surveillance, undercover operations, informant handling, intelligence analysis, investigation and management of investigations.
You have a unique opportunity for your staff to be taught by the people who have developed the training for the police that everyone values so highly.
Our training is designed where appropriate to allow delegates to achieve elements of the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for countering E-crime. See www.skillsforjustice.co.uk for further details of the NOS.
We have a number of training courses that may be delivered "off the shelf", however we prefer to work with clients to understand their requirements and deliver a bespoke product that will provide the best learning for their staff and value for money for the client.
We can undertake a training needs analysis where required and can deliver the resulting products at locations and in session lengths to suit the clients business. Unlike many other offerings our training is product neutral and designed to teach the core skills required for undertaking the specific area of work. Depending on the type and depth of training, the potential for students to obtain vocational and academic qualifications is available. The areas of expertise available to clients include:
TRL offers a range of training events covering the investigative and hi-tech arenas, some of which are detailed in the links on our home page.
